8. Villa Verde From bare land, Greg and Kylie have transformed their one-acre property into a bountiful garden of great beauty. Since moving a house on to the section in 2001, they have created a cottage garden starring roses, irises, clematis and hostas, and a large vege patch with raised beds. Peter and Neryda’s Hāwera haven is flowing with flowers, including a bounty of roses, rhododendrons and azaleas. Curved paths and clipped hedges provide definition and form, garden art adds interest, while sweeping lawns frame views of Taranaki Maunga.
