We are thrilled to launch the 33rd Taranaki Garden Festival 2020

This is the year of the garden — gardens have soothed our minds, nourished our bodies and have been a therapeutic activity while we take our minds off other matters. This spring our 40 glorious gardens will be primed and ready for you to visit, and they will be the most spectacular ever.

Our 33rd festival is set to allow you to learn, be excited or spend leisure time in a beautiful outdoor space. Our festival is the perfect place to pause, relax and appreciate nature. We have four new gardens for you to visit in the 10-day celebration and a blooming events calendar to take you on a journey around the maunga to discover Taranaki. Food production is strong in the province and many of our award-winning eateries will be creating seasonal dishes using botanical ingredients for your friends and family.

Garden to Plate with Lynda Hallinan at Mitre 10 will serve up answers to all your gardening questions; you can create botanical jewellery and indulge your indoor plant addiction at Flora and Co.

This year the garden festival is excited to partner with the Taranaki Arts Trail, both festivals opening over the same weekend and presenting a dual programme. The Taranaki Arts Trail is a vibrant and dynamic annual event, you'll enjoy the unique opportunity of being able to meet artists in their studios and workshops, for free!

You can expect a diverse array of cultural and creative work on display, with both nationally and internationally recognised artists throughout the whole Taranaki region! Download your digital festival programme and start planning your festival itinerary, and for further details head to our Festival Information page

Taranaki is the destination this spring, find out about all the things you can see and do while you are here on our Visit Taranaki page,  we welcome all of you to our 33rd festival!

Nau mai, haere mai, welcome to Taranaki.
