Taranaki Garden Festival and Taranaki Arts Trail Official launch 15 July 2021
Over seven decades Pukeiti has built up one of the world’s biggest and most diverse collections of rhododendrons and other exotics, their rich colours bursting into life against a backdrop of lush native rainforest. The 360ha property also boasts an absorbing range of free family-orientated activities, walking tracks for all fitness levels, a modern visitor centre, a popular café and various accommodation options, including the Lodge Studio and the Ruru Family Hut, which can be booked on the website.
Pukeiti has free guided walks during the festival at 2pm daily as well as mobility vehicle rides for less-able visitors on the hour from 9am – 1pm. Guided walks and mobility vehicle tours at other times can be booked privately, in advance, on the website for a fee. Please let us know beforehand if you are bringing large groups during this busy time.
Pukeiti is open all day, every day and entry is free. It’s owned and managed by the Taranaki Regional Council.
