37. Pukemiro

Plants & Crafts Sale

1121 Main Nth Rd, RD 43, Onearo
Rosanna Patterson and Evan Ryder

This 4.5-hectare farm and retreat is teeming with a huge variety of vegetables and fruit trees. This largely self-sustainable property, named after the ancient pa site on its boundary, utilises crop rotation, seed preservation, companion planting and mulching. You can see lambs, baby calves, an earth room to store the garden’s generous bounty, and hear about Rosanna’s preserves and pickles – nothing goes to waste at Pukemiro. If you’re lucky, she may perform an impromptu acapella. Visitors are asked to take care near the cliff.

Open 9.30am – 5:00pm, admission by koha/donation
