Over seven decades, Pukeiti has built up one of the world’s biggest and most diverse collections of rhododendrons and other exotics, their rich colours bursting into life against a backdrop of lush native rainforest. The 360 ha property also boasts an absorbing range of free, family-orientated activity options, walking tracks for all fitness levels, and a state-of-the-art visitor centre and popular café.
Visit the Lodge to see an art exhibition and rhododendron flower display. There are free guided walks every day at
2pm during the festival as well as mobility vehicle rides for less-able visitors on the hour from 9am to 1pm.
Guided walks at other times may be booked on the website for a fee. Please let us know if you’re bringing a
large group during this busy time.
Pukeiti is open all day, every day and entry is free. It’s owned and managed by the Taranaki Regional Council.
