Chapman-Taylor Tour

In 1880 a two-year-old named James Walter Chapman-Taylor landed on the shore of the Port of New Plymouth from England.

He was to become New Zealand’s most renowned Arts and Crafts architect and builder. His ideal was “to live for the work instead of to work for a living”.

Join Chapman-Taylor enthusiast Chris Herlihy on an afternoon of discovery to learn about Chapman-Taylor’s career and visit three of his designs; The Wilkinson’s Castle, Plas Mawr and Tupare House.
